Ambitious quota set to get more women taking up a trade
The push is on to get more women taking up a trade, with the Victorian government introducing mandatory female-worker quotas on government-funded construction projects worth $20 million or more.
Hacia Atherton, founder of Empowered Womens in Trade, said the quota of 40 per cent was ambitious, but necessary.
“The appetite is there,” she said.
