American football scare reminder about dangers of sudden cardiac arrest

It’s been revealed an American football star who collapsed on the field suffered a cardiac arrest at the age of just 24.

And while that situation itself is rare, it’s prompted a reminder for people to be across their CPR skills to help those in need in similar situations.

Just like Damar Hamlin, Jesse Amato was just 24 when he suffered a cardiac arrest while playing indoor soccer in Melbourne two years ago.

A quick-thinking opposition player saved his life.

“If you’re not treated very quickly, it’s essentially a death sentence,” he said.
