Newsreader Amie Meehan and her husband are heading off on a week-long adventure, representing Nine Radio in the infamous Shitbox Rally!

Amie and Greg will be driving from Rockhampton to Hobart in a car worth just $1000.

They will travel around 3000 kilometres in just 7 days, and its all for a good cause — raising money for the Cancer Council

On their way, they’ll travel through the Great Artesian Basin, Tambo, Eulo, Cobar and Tooleybuc before swapping the swag for a night on the Spirit of Tasmania, then it’s on the Strahan and Hobart.

Just over five years ago Amie was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes, and she endured a gruelling 18 months of treatment.

This year, Amie wants to raise money for the Cancer Council, in the hope that no one has to live through what she did.
