An adolescent psychiatrist discusses the correlation between violent video games and violent youth crime
With an increase of high-profile crimes involving teens, questions have been raised about the impact of violent video games.
Australian Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, Dr Huu Kim Le, says research confirms short-term increases in aggression following repeated playing of violent games.
“If you’re playing these games, and all of a sudden your parent pulls the plug on you, pulls the Wi-Fi, tells you to stop playing the game, there’s a really high chance of some conflict, domestic violence,” he told Tom Elliott.
