Air India flight A171 was carrying 242 passengers and crew, with only one reported survivor emerging from the wreckage.

Athur Wolk said there were two possible theories on what happened to the doomed 787 Dreamliner.

“It’s obvious to me both engines lost power right after the takeoff took place,” he said on 3AW Breakfast.

“It appears to me that either the data that was put into (the aircraft) was incorrect, or the autothrottles failed on takeoff.”
