An expert provides understanding on what is currently known about the SEC
The state government has outlined plans to revive the State Electricity Commission (SEC), but there are questions about it will make power prices cheaper with criticisms over the way it’s been set up.
Energy and climate deputy program director at Grattan Institute, Alison Reeves, says the SEC will do a couple of different things but there are a lot of unanswered questions including why the government won’t sell power to households.
“I can’t pretend to know what goes on in the mind of ministers,” she told Tom Elliott.
