Andrew Bogut’s improvements for Melbourne

Infrastructure and the judicial system are two of Melbourne’s most needed areas of improvement, according to Andrew Bogut.

The NBA star spoke with Neil Mitchell on Melbourne Day about his hometown.

“We have an influx of people moving to Melbourne and our roads and freeways aren’t catching up to that,” Bogut said.

When Bogut returns to Melbourne he still stays at home in Dandenong, where he says he’s seen crime increase over time.

“You’ve got to know where to go to at certain times and where not to, which is unfortunate.

“Police are doing a pretty decent job but I think the courts have a lot to answer for.”

But he said Melbourne’s culture is second to none.

Bogut cheekily ended the call by asking Neil if he sought council’s permission to celebrate Melbourne Day by the Yarra.
