Political commentator Andrew Bolt says Tuesday’s CFMEU protest in support of John Setka and Shaun Reardon is ‘disturbing’ on many levels.

The controversial columnist joined Neil Mitchell in studio, covering a range of issues.

He said people should be asking serious questions about the walkoff.

‘Where do they get off walking off the job, costing bosses a lot of money, to support two blokes who have been charged with something so very, very serious,’ Bolt said on 3AW Mornings.

‘It seems to me ? I’m not saying it is ? it just seems to me that this is, potentially, an attempt to intimidate the court.’

But 3AW Mornings caller Steve defended the protest.

‘The Union asked people to stay away, but you couldn’t hold back the rage,’ he said.

He also explained the ‘four-hour’ rule for workers who take industrial action.
