Anger as council ‘secretly’ approves controversial Woolworths development

Elsternwick residents have vowed to keep fighting after Glen Eira Council approved a controversial Woolworths development.

Kathy Deacon is from the resident action group, Stop The Elsternwick Towers, and told 3AW Drive the site on Selwyn Street was “inappropriate” for the supermarket and apartment building that was approved.

She said council voted “in secret” last Tuesday night.

“We’re going to fight it,” she said.
