Ann-Maree Heppell defends Essendon players in wake of suspension
Dyson Heppell’s mother says Essendon let the players down in implementing its infamous supplement regime.
But Ann-Maree Heppell told Sports Today the club is still a ‘wonderful place’.
‘The club let the boys down in the end,’ she said.
‘(But) we also think the club’s a wonderful place. It is Dyson’s second home.’
Ms Heppell also said the players couldn’t plead guilty because they didn’t believe they were.
