Another blockade by taxis is being planned as state Parliament starts to debate the legislation for Uber.

Last Monday taxi owners and drivers caused disruption to the Bolte Bridge over the government’s compensation and dealing of the matter.

This coming Monday, another protest is expected on the Freeway near the airport, through the city and ending at Parliament steps.

One of the organisers of last week’s blockade, Lou the Cabbie, says this one will be bigger than the last.

‘It’s a team effort, it’s an industry effort,’ Lou told Neil Mitchell.

‘It will delay traffic, but it won’t stop traffic.’

Lou says he wants the industry to return to an ‘owner-driver basis,’ for taxi services to train the staff themselves and for drivers to know the roads better.

‘I want the industry to become professional.’
