Anxiety is Australia’s most common mental health condition.

In a rare interview since becoming Chair of beyondblue, Julia Gillard told 3AW Breakfast around two million Australians experience anxiety every year.

“We’ll all get that jolt of adrenaline when the going gets tough, but (it’s) when that doesn’t turn off,” Ms Gillard said in the 3AW studio on Tuesday.

“That can be treated, people can get better, if they go and get assistance.”
