A man fell through the ceiling of a Yarraville home during an aggravated burglary yesterday.

Two occupants in the home, both in their 70s, were asleep in their bed when they heard noises coming from the roof of their Francis Street home just after 9am.

They’ve since told police they believe the noises were tiles being removed.

Soon after, a man fell through the ceiling, apologised to the victims and ran out the back door.

The man is described as in his 30s, of medium build and with an olive complexion. He was wearing blue pants, a white t-shirt, a black beanie and glasses.

Thankfully no one was injured during the incident.
