Are the Logies racist? Neil Mitchell says Waleed Aly is simply ‘overrated’

This year’s Gold Logie has sparked plenty of controversy, with criticism surrounding Waleed Aly’s nomination being described as ‘racist’ in some quarters.

But Neil Mitchell has questioned whether it’s simply because some people, himself included, find Waleed overrated.

Lawyer Michael Bradley is one who believes the host of The Project is unfairly targeted, describing Aly as a ‘writer, academic and basic legend’.

But it’s fair to say his explanation for that final claim left the 3AW Mornings host both confused and frustrated.

‘I like him and that’s a personal opinion,’ Mr Bradley said.
