Armed man allegedly storms Williamstown police station
A man has allegedly tried to storm the Williamstown police station armed with a knife.
Police say the man initially used a vehicle to ram the gates of the Williamstown police station on Nelson Place around 6am before getting out of the car, brandishing a knife.
Officers deployed OC spray, managing to subdue the man.
The 25-year-old has been taken to hospital for assessment.
The motive for the alleged attack is not yet clear, but police say it is not believed to be terror-related.
Williamstown Police Station has since re-opened to the public.
