Armed men spark chaos at shopping centre

Two armed men are on the run after sparking chaos at Sunshine Marketplace Shopping Centre.

3AW Drive was alerted to the terrifying incident shortly before 5pm on Wednesday.

“A lot of scared customers were running away, ducking for cover,” witness Jane told Tom Elliott.

“There was a lot of noise and commotion.”

One man was armed with a gun and the other had a hammer.

They threatened staff members and stole various items of jewellery before fleeing.

Both men got onto a black Honda CBR motorbike and left the scene, travelling north on Harvester Road.
