Armed siege underway at property in Melbourne’s outer north

UPDATE

The man has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

The siege lasted about two hours.

EARLIER

An armed siege is underway at a property in Lalor.

Police arrived at the Katherine Avenue home at about 7.30 this morning.

They say the man is possibly armed with a knife and refusing to come out.

The Critical Incident Response Team is negotiating with a man who allegedly threatened to harm his family.

The family have been safely removed but the situation is ongoing.
