RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Police have arrested a man following an assault at a local football match in Upper Ferntree Gully on Saturday.

A caller to the Rumour File said an AFL footballer’s father was involved in the brawl, which saw one of his sons jumping a fence to join in.

A 57-year-old Coldstream man was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

A 44-year-old Seville man was interviewed and is expected to be charged on summons for intentionally cause injury and unlawful assault.

The Rumour File then stated Melbourne forward Bayley Fritsch’s father was the one allegedly assaulted in the incident.
