Arrests made over violent robbery of school kids in Hawthorn

Three people have been arrested after school kids were threatened with knives and had their phones stolen in Hawthorn.

Five teenagers were at Glenferrie Oval when they were confronted by several men armed with knives just after 7pm on September 1.
Their phones, cash and ID was stolen.
Police have carried out a series of raids and a 14-year-old Mickleham boy has been remanded in custody on armed robbery, false imprisonment and bail offences. A 16-year-old Malvern East boy has been released on bail on similar charges and another 16-year-old boy has been released pending summons.
