‘Arrogant’: State government called out over controversial emergency services levy
79 local councils across Victoria have united as one to demand that local governments shouldn’t be burdened with the huge cost of collecting the emergency services levy.
Councillors and mayors are set to march to parliament, with the Allan-Labor government making councils look like the “bad guy” in the situation.
“The arrogance of this is astounding,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW Drive.

“We shouldn’t really be calling it the fire services levy, we should be calling it a fire services tax because that is what it is.
“This is nothing more than a wild cash grab from all of us.”
