Artemis II crew make history with a rare moon flyby
On Tuesday morning, the Artemis II mission made history by passing behind the western edge of the moon, triggering a 40-minute total communication blackout.
Speaking on 3AW Breakfast, former astronaut Terry Hart noted that only about “20 people in history have ever seen the far side of the moon”.

Beyond setting new records, Artemis II is a crucial trial designed to guarantee the safety of those who fly next.
“You know, we’ve lost people in space … it’s a dangerous business,” the former astronaut said.
