At least 15 cars in Toorak targeted in ‘awful’ climate activist attack

At least 15 four-wheel-drive and sport utility vehicles in the vicinity of Tintern Avenue in Toorak have had their tyres tampered with overnight.

A note left on the cars by the Tyre Extinguishers activist group says tyres have been deflated because “gas guzzler” cars cause more air pollution than smaller cars and “SUVs are more likely to kill people than normal sedans in collisions”.

Katie, who spotted the cars and sent photos to 3AW’s Jacqui Felgate, said it was “just awful”.

“It’s just totally inconvenienced someone overnight with no thought or regard for what they’re going through,” she said.

Police are investigating.
