At least 162 dead after earthquake shakes Indonesia
At least 162 have been killed and hundreds more have been injured after an earthquake hit the main Indonesian island of Java.
The 5.6 magnitude tremor struck at a depth of just 10 kilometres causing buildings to collapse and trapping many people.
The epicentre was in the Cianjur region in West Java, about 75 kilometres east of Jakarta.
More than 13,000 people have been displaced.
Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency has recorded at least 25 aftershocks.
