Seven people hospitalised after Barwon Heads plane incident

Seven people have been hospitalised after a light plane ran off the end of the runway at Barwon Heads this morning.

A skydiving plane overshot the runway and cane down on the Leopold side of Lake Connewarre just before 8am.

A man in his 30s was airlifed to The Alfred in a stable condition with upper body injuries and three other people were taken to hospital by road with serious injuries. Three others were also hospitalised for further assessment.
