Aussie teenager becomes an International Powerlifting Champion

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

Ross and Russ have confirmed the rumour that a 15-year-old Aussie, became a Power Champion at the IDFPA World Student and University World Championship. 

Lara Jones beat out several international competitors years older than her by a significant margin, all while setting a new Australian record in bench press at 72.5kg and deadlift at 145kg.

Ms Jones told Ross and Russ she didn’t expect to win and wasn’t sure how her body would preform after the long flight to Boston.

“I was going to try to do my best and I was lucky enough to come out with first overall,” she said on 3AW Breakfast.
