The Victorian Chair of the Royal College of General Practitioners says Australia is facing a critical shortage of medicines.

The dwindling supply ranges from commonly used anti-biotics to heart medication.

“There are some medications that the absence of which can be life threatening for some patients,” Dr Anita Muñoz told Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings.

“And there are also medications that we treat infection, where we just don’t have good substitutes.”
