Australia has been gripped by a timber shortage.

Neil Mitchell floated the question on 3AW on Tuesday and was met with a stream of calls from builders who said it was a problem.

They say it could drive up the cost of building a house.

“Absolutely there is an issue,” Rebecca Casson, chief executive of Master Builders Victoria, told 3AW.
