Australia have become ‘bad hosts’, says Dean Jones
Australian cricket legend Dean Jones says we’ve become bad hosts.
Australia denied New Zealand’s requests for trial matches at major Australian cricket venues as preparation for the current series.
Jones told Sports Today it enabled the one-sided nature of the First Test.
‘I don’t think we’re good hosts anymore,’ he said.
‘New Zealand got matches in Canberra and Blacktown. The West Indies are playing a four-day match at Allan Border Oval and a two-day match at Geelong.’
Jones said giving visiting sides better preparation would avoid ‘car crash’ series.
Jones also encouraged New Zealand to bring their One-Day style into Test matches.
