Australia Post: Extreme weather in NSW + QLD is resulting in mail being delayed this Christmas
Extreme weather conditions in New South Wales and bushfires in Queensland have resulted in delayed across Australia Post’s network.
Disgruntled customer Shane told Tom Elliott he put a card in the post at Langwarrin at the beginning of last week, to send to his mother on the Gold Coast.
“The tracking on it still says it’s at Dandenong,” Shane said.
“It contained a $200 voucher.
“I’ve rung Australia Post and they’ve assured me it can’t be at Dandenong.”

Australia Post advised 3AW the delays are because of extreme weather.
Statement: We apologise to the customer for delay in delivering his letter to his mother. The letter was scheduled for delivery yesterday (Dec 3) and we are confident that it will arrive soon.
Extreme weather conditions in New South Wales and bushfires in Queensland have resulted in flight cancellations and delays, road closures and access restrictions as well as post office closures in evacuation areas.
This is delaying some mail and parcels between these states and other Australian states.
