Australia Post to reduce letter deliveries following ‘sensible reform’

Letter delivery will be reduced with some post offices set to close and the price of stamps to rise.
Chief executive officer and managing director of Australia Post, Paul Graham, says letters are on a “terminal decline” and he’s pleased to see “sensible reform” from the government.
“Letters are on an unstoppable decline, we’re not just seeing that in Australia, but across the world, so this reform recognises that,” he told Tony Jones.

He also says Australia is not alone in the decision to decrease letter delivery and have committed to avoid job losses.
“We’ve seen New Zealand, we’ve seen Denmark, we’ve seen other jurisdictions where they’ve reduced letter delivery,” he said.
