The future is here! Well, almost.

Australia Post have begun trialling drone delivery technology.

Nick McCallum spoke with Ben Franzi, the general manager of E-Commerce at Australia Post.

Nick raised security and safety concerns, but was told with confidence there is nothing to fear.

Mr Franzi says – ‘The drones won’t interact with people, property or houses at any point, making sure we’re safely interacting.’

The drone will hover 10 to 15 metres off the ground and lower the parcel with a tether.

The customer will have to agree before delivery that they will not be required to sign upon delivery.

The technology is still a few years away from launching commercially.
