Australia Post has announced a discount shipping service for online shoppers.

Customers who sign up to use Shipster will receive free delivery at a number of retailers, including  Myer, Target, Harvey Norman, Target and Kogan.

Shipster is a major campaign leading into Christmas for Australia Post, ahead of the arrival of Amazon.

“With a name like Shipster, you’d want to get it right, because you’re tempting fate a little bit…”
-Ross

Australia Post CEO Christine Corbett told Ross and John says the offer costs $6.95 per month from next year.

“What we’ve found is that one of the key barriers to online shopping is actually shipping costs,” she said.

“It’s really trying to look at how do we remove one of those barriers, and encourage Australians to get online and shop.”
