Australia has posted its warmest decade on record.

The mean temperature from 2011 to 2020 was almost a degree above average.

The Weather Bureau’s Senior Climatologist, Dr Lynette Bettio, says 2020 was the country’s fourth warmest year on record.

“November was Australia’s warmest November on record,” she told 3AW.

Melbourne has a forecast top of 26 degrees on Friday.
