Australia predicted to be cash-free within five years

There are new predictions that Australia will be cash-free within 5 years, which has divided many Australian’s opinions.

Economics Professor at the University of NSW Richard Holden joined 3AW Mornings and thinks the nation will be “functionally” cash-free in the near future.

He believes people have “legitimate concerns” with the move to a cash-free society, but there are many people wanting cash to remain due to wanting “anonymity.”
