Australia to introduce tough new vaping rules
The Albanese government will move to ban disposable vapes, including those that do not contain nicotine, in a major crackdown.
Vapes which contain nicotine are already illegal without a prescription, but a lack of enforcement and legal loopholes have allowed sales to flourish.

Associate professor of public health at the University of Sydney, Becky Freeman, says the changes will make enforcement of the law much easier.
“We will no longer see these vape shops selling brightly-coloured packages of fruit flavoured or lolly-flavoured vapes,” she told Ross and Russel.
Under the changes, Australians will still be able to buy low-nicotine vapes for therapeutic purposes, but only if they’re prescribed by a doctor.
