Australia will back United States if North Korea attacks, says acting PM

The acting Prime Minister says Australia wouldn’t hesitate joining military action against North Korea if the United States is attacked.

Barnaby Joyce is in charge while Malcolm Turnbull travels to Germany for talks with other G20 leaders.

Speaking on 3AW Drive, Mr Joyce answered emphatically when asked whether Australia would help fight back in the event of a nuclear attack.

“Of course,” he said.

“We’d expect the same from the United States.”
