Australian astronomers have discovered the most luminous object in the universe – a black hole.

Astrophysicist and professor at the University of Melbourne, Rachel Webster, says the black hole is 17 billion times heavier than the sun.

“It’s one of the massive ones we know, but it’s eating the equivalent of our sun a day,” she told Tony Moclair.
