Australian comedy on show

The Australian documentary series ‘Stop Laughing…This Is Serious’ returns to TV screens tonight for it’s second season.

Exploring the stories behind Australian comedy and it’s history, the series features interviews and archival material from some of Australia’s leading comics.

The first of a three-part series, tonight’s episode will feature memorable characters Kylie Mole, Con the Fruiterer, Kath & Kim, Uncle Arthur and many more.

Speaking on 3AW Afternoons, narrator Colin Lane said Australian comedy is a diverse and dramatic craft.

‘I think that’s what makes the ABC so happy about being able to do another three part series, because the history of Australian comedy is so varied, there’s lots to talk about.’

‘Stop Laughing…This Is Serious’ airs tonight at 9pm on the ABC.
