Ukrainian forces are using Australian drones made from cardboard and rubber bands to fight Russian invaders.

At least 100 of the cheap, flat-packed drones, made by Melbourne company SYPAQ, are being supplied to Ukraine every month.

Managing director of SYPAQ, David Vicino, says the drones were supplied to Ukraine for humanitarian purposes including delivering medical supplies, food and water.

Ukrainian ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, says “they are already being used by Ukrainian soldiers for a variety of missions including lethal ones”.
