Australian Navy seizes massive drug haul in the Middle East

Royal Australian Navy ship HMAS Ballarat has seized more than 900kg of heroin.

Ballarat boarded two vessels of interest in the Arabian Sea, discovering and seizing the illegal narcotics worth around $280 million.

The frigate, pictured above, started operations in the Middle East Region in November.

The successful operations took place between December 21 and 23.
