Australian of the Year calls on doctors to stop discussing weight with patients

Australian of the Year Taryn Brumfitt is calling on GPs to avoid discussing the weight of patients during standard consults.
The body positivity advocate says “focusing on weight doesn’t lead people to positive health outcomes”.
“We know that when people feel shame about their weight … it actually leads to psychological distress, and eating disorders, and weight gain,” she told Neil Mitchell.
