Australian researchers have put forward a theory on why some children are more at risk of developing peanut allergies.

A new study has established a link between the nut intolerance and pollen.

Scientists from the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute found babies who grow up around more trees and grass had a higher rate of egg and peanut allergies.

It’s thought their exposure to pollen has potentially impacted the immune system.
