Australian running legend in shock over marathon record being smashed

Australian running legend Steve Moneghetti says he’s in disbelief after the world marathon record was shattered in London.

Kenyan Sabastian Sawe ran a staggering one hour, 59 minutes and 30 seconds to shock the world in the London Marathon.

Moneghetti admitted he never thought he’d see the day when a marathon was run in under two hours.

“It’s something I thought I’d never seen in my lifetime,” he told 3AW’s Eddie Summerfield.
