Why Fiona Patten has dropped ‘Sex’ for ‘Reason’
Australian Sex Party founder Fiona Patten has told Neil Mitchell today’s rebranding is not just a re-naming.
She wants it to be the start of a movement.
Now known as the Reason Party, Ms Patten said she’s taken inspiration from French president Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche! party.

She doesn’t share Neil Mitchell’s concern that dropping the word ‘Sex’ will cost the party at the ballot box.
“The name (Sex Party) did get us attention … and one hopes that Reason will get attention in certainly what seems a very unreasonable time in politics.”
