Australian teacher shot dead in Africa

An Australian teacher has been shot dead in Kenya.

The Age reports Gabrielle Maina was gunned down during a robbery while walking home in Nairobi.

It’s believed her purse was snatched by someone riding a motor bike.

“It is with great sadness and shock that we are writing to let you know that Gabrielle Maina, Head Teacher of Hillcrest Prep has been tragically killed whilst out walking this morning,” the school said in a statement.
