Australians trapped in New Caledonia get ‘welcome news’

Australians stuck in New Caledonia have received good news from Foreign Affairs minister Penny Wong after she announced evacuation flights via X (formerly known as Twitter).

Woodend local stuck in New Caledonia, Max Winchester, says it’s welcome news.

“We’ve got a spring in our step … we may not get on those flights because they obviously need to get rid of the people who need to get out most and we’re probably not in that category,” he told Tom Elliott.
