Australia’s four-finger cricket salute causes a stir
Tasteless, or a bit fun?
The below hands painted on the podium background caused a stir on Twitter when Australia was presented with the Ashes trophy yesterday.
Many suggested it was tasteless and a show of poor sportsmanship from Cricket Australia.
Heidi Murphy says it’s a bit of fun.
Mike Carlton was one of those who thought it was classless.
“It looked like a Pauline Hanson political relic,” he said on 3AW Mornings.
“It was chest-beating nationalism. It wasn’t necessary.”
Really ? How gross. I’m all for beating England at any known sport, but this is insulting triumphalism. Anyone agree ? pic.twitter.com/wwg0uBMed1
