Australia’s top 10 travel experiences according to Lonely Planet

Uluru has topped a list of the ultimate travel experiences in the country.

Lonely Planet has released its Ultimate Travel List for Australia, with a bucket list of 500 must-see experiences across the country ranked.

Spokesperson for Lonely Planet, Chris Zeiher, says there was a “clear number one” among those who voted on the list — Uluru.

“I’ve never met a traveller who’s been to Uluru who hasn’t been impacted by the place,” he told Jimmy Bartel and Shane McInnes, filling in for Ross and Russel.

The Great Ocean Road was the top Victorian attraction on the list — coming it at number four.

Wilsons Prom (#11), and touring the MCG (#21) Hanging Rock (#66) also made the cut.
