Bachar Houli shares surprising confession about this year’s AFL season
Former AFL great Bachar Houli has been tasked with chaperoning the Premiership Cup this week.
But the three-time premiership player, who retired last year, had a surprising confession to make about the 2022 season — he didn’t watch a single game of the home and away season live.
“I’ve just taken a complete step back from footy,” he told Jacqui Felgate and Jimmy Bartel, filling in for Ross and Russel.

But the finals have been another story.
“I’ve actually watched a fair bit!,” he said. “This week is going to be huge.”
Houli has been tasked with escorting the premiership cup all over town this week, but he’s grateful he doesn’t have to take it home every night.
“It’s a big, big responsibility!,” he said.
