Tom Elliott has raised questions about tennis star Serena Williams creating an Instagram account for her 10-month-old baby daughter, chronicling her life on social media.

The account, run by her parents, already has nearly 400,000 followers.

“I am uncomfortable with this idea that a 10-month-old baby who has just taken her first steps can have her own social media account obviously run by her parents,” the 3AW Drive host said.

“We do not know what it is going to be like to have a generation of kids whose every waking moment is chronicled on social media.”

Futurist Steve Sammartino predicted problems for parents in the long-run.

“I think it’s a really bad idea, Tom,” he said.

“Most people haven’t read the terms and conditions. If you sign up to putting your photos on social media, you have given a perpetual license to the use of those photographs including to be used in advertising.”
